Northrop Grumman, one of the private government sectors that PSI has serviced, just announced yesterday that they are the company behind “Project Magellan”.
They will be designing the next generation of B-2 stealth bombers. The project will provide 1,800 new jobs that will average a salary of $100,000. The new project will be taking place in Brevard County, FL. The Melbourne International Airport will be hosting the project and will invest about $500 million in the local area. Back in April, the Melbourne International Airport Authority Board approved a 10 year lease of 20 acres to Northrop Grumman, who was anonymous at the time of the vote. This project will further the expansion of Northrop Grumman’s Manned Aircraft Design Center of Excellence and of the company’s Space Coast footprint. The B-2 project will call for an addition of 300 employees to the company by the end of the year. The project was about two years in the making.
