What to look for when picking out a gun case

Whether you are overseas protecting your country or just in the woods hunting for dinner, you need a way to transport and protect your gun.  A gun case is an important accessory to pair with your weapon making transportation more efficient and extending the life of the item. There are a couple factors to consider when deciding on the perfect case for your gun.

Hard or Soft?

A standard cased used by the military is composed of a high-grade aluminum or plastic compounds.  Aluminum cases are the best for protecting your cases because it is the durable against damage.  These cases are also incredibly lightweight which benefits military personnel that are in the middle of war.  Soft cases are more commonly used by hunters because of their lightweight capability and are travel efficient.  There are soft cases that can float in water which is ideal for duck hunters.

What Is On the Inside Counts

One of the most important components of gun case is the foam because it offers direct protection for your gun.  A dense closed-cell foam ideal for any gun specifically military-grade ones.  This style of foam is scratch resistant and protects a gun’s finish.  A ribbed pattern foam is widely used because it offers superior support and offers the greatest resistance to impact.

Size

The size of your gun case (not surprisingly) depends on the size of your firearm and how many you have to transport.  Also considered the accessories that go along with your gun when choosing the size of your case.  Military grade cases usually have the capability to store multiple firearms and their accessories.  If you are hunter, you probably need a single gun case that does not take up a lot of room.  Cases with wheels makes transportation much quicker especially when time is ticking down.
